Gold Coast Goldstars Cycling Club

The Gold Coast Goldstars is a Cycling Australia affiliated cycling club with members of all ages from all over from Gold Coast City.

Our Junior Development Program is the only one of its kind on the Gold Coast, and our junior members range from 8 to 18 years old. Our Club Coaches attend to the training and development of all these youngsters, some of whom just ride a bike for the enjoyment while others go on to represent their State and Country. Our senior Club Coach is the current State Junior Coach.

Our Elite membership consists of men and women aged 19 to 34, and our Masters membership consists of those 35 years and over. One of our Masters members is 70 years old and is a current Australian age group Champion. He competes in Europe each winter and has won several recent World Championships while there. During the summer, he is seen racing in our regular Sunday races showing younger competitors how it is done.

CQ Awards Night- 8th Nov

2008 was big year of the Goldstars with the inaugural running of the Tour of the Scenic Rim, the expansion of both our junior development program and our Sunday racing schedule and the Club's vital support of the successful Rhino Linings Teams Series. At the Cycling Queensland Awards Night the Club and its members claimed:

3. U15 Road Cyclist of Year (Female)

4. U15 Track Cyclist of Year (Male)

5. U19 Road Cyclist of Year (Male)

6. Volunteer of the Year

7. CQ Club of the Year

The Goldstars supports the Daniel Bennett Development Fund, an independent body established in early 2007 after the tragic passing of Daniel Bennett, an up and coming professional rider on the world stage and former Goldstars Junior. The Fund aims to assist junior riders in their development.
